About Roland Acosta
Started playing pool at the age of 8 at father’s Pool-Bar. During which he has won several local tournaments between the age of 12 and 18. Took some time off and moved to Holland in order to continue his studies, and took a break from Pool. He started to take another serious look at pool around the age of 30. From there he won several events and his first big event win was at the 2002 Pan-American Champion 9-ball. This title was followed by the by the Dutch Caribbean Championship 9-ball. He then took second place at the Pan-American Championship 9-ball 2003 in Argentina. In December 2003 moved into the number #1 position on the CPB (South-Central America & the Caribbean) ranking and held that until May 2005, which qualified him to participate at the World Games 2005. He won the Aruba National 9-ball Championship in 2004 and 2005. Is also a member of the Aruba selection that won the 2004 Caribbean Pool Tour 8-ball.
