About Paul Brienza
Nickname 'Knight of the Green Felt', Paul started shooting pool on Jackie Gleason's table when he was twelve. Starting with the New Jersey Collegiate 14.1 Championship in 1965, Paul has gone on to win many tournaments for five decades. In 1979, he was appointed to the Anheuser-Busch advisory staff. Paul was one of the main characters in John Grissim's book Billiards, with one chapter devoted to Paul's 1977 World Nine-Ball Association Championship held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. Minnesota Fats named Brienza one of the top 10 players of modern times in "The Book of Sports Lists # 2" by Phil Pepe and Zande Hollander. Ironically, his initials P.B. also stand for Pocket Billiards!
