About Sal Butera
Son of Hall of Famer and World Champion Lou Butera, Sal started showing interest in the game at 9 years old while following his father's pool career. Sal got the pool bug and started to get serious at the age 14 after playing a challenge match with Minnesota Fats at a pool tournament. At 17 years old, Sal took second place in the Junior World open in New York. Being the son of champion "Machine Gun Lou" he was given the name " Son of a Gun". Since then Sal has played in and placed in many major tournaments. While on tour, Sal stayed at the top of the player ranks. Not as fast as Lou but will fire at you, always a threat.
