About Linda Carter
Linda had an inauspicious beginning at age 15, when she ripped the felt on her sister's brand new pool table! She began her billiard career in college in 1973, here she started a majore in pool. Some of her credentials include being on the VNEA All Star Team, placing 2nd in the National Championships. She has won or been in the finals of lots of tournaments on regional tours, including the WA State Championships, qualifiers on the S. Calif. tour, and the Northern Calif. tour. Linda has been ranked as high as 37th on the WPBA. Her goal was to get to become the 36th ranked player, however making it into the IPT program is even better. Unique to most players that compete at this level, Linda has a high-level fulltime career as an Area Sales Manager for a national medical imaging company. As if working 50-70 hours/week and raising her kids weren’t enough, she has started the Association of Cuesports for Women, the NW regional WPBA tour, (where she was #1, and also led with most 9-ball breaks and most break and runs). To add to this, Linda also was the first female house pro for Jillian's where she ran tournaments, gave exhibitions, catered corporate parties for Microsoft and Boeing, and gave lessons. She tries to give back to the sport by running and organizing tournaments and giving lessons. Linda has always believed that pool players ought to be compensated on the same scale as any other professional sport and have been in discussions with others who wanted to make it happen. She is honored to be a part of this groundbreaking moment in billiard history that Kevin has created with the IPT.
