About Ralph Eckert
In 1982 Ralph started to play pool in a newly opened billiard cafe in Ludwigshafen on the Rhein. Ralph was then seventeen. Ralph had to earn his training through brushing and vacuuming the billiard tables and polishing the billiard balls. This time led him to learn how to occupy himself with the game consciously. Through training, Ralph was not only taught very diligently, but also in a very soundly and conscious manner. He was rewarded with not just the feel for the game, but also the knowledge and fine details of the game. After three years of intensive training, Ralph made it to the National League with his team in 1985. In 1988 Ralph managed to capture two state championships in Baden-Württemberg and was runner-up at the 9-Ball German Championships that same season. In 1988 Ralph also planned for deployment with the German National Team, and qualified again in 1995 and 1996. Ralph furthered is skills by attending sport psychology lectures that allowed Ralph to rediscover the fun in the game of pool. Ralph equipped with his new knowledge became aware of what he was capable of bringing to the sport of pool. In 1999, Ralph won the Brunswick Antalya Open which placed him in the rankings for European 9-Ball. In March of 2000 at the Euro Tour, Ralph was able to accomplish what he had always dreamed of, becoming the number one power ranked player in Europe.
