About William Incardona
William “Pittsburgh Billy” Incardona was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 2, 1943. At twelve years old, Incardona played on a wooden mini-table with mesh pockets and a checker disk as the ball. Because of his young age, Billy was kicked out of many pool rooms as a child, but was money-hungry and very persistent. On one occasion, Incardona snuck in to a crowded pool room, and before anyone could question the adolescent, they were absolutely amazed by his unbelievable talent. The competitors allowed him to play, based solely on his stellar performance. He continued to improve, and hit peak performance between the ages of twenty-four and twenty-eight. In 1971, 1972, and 1973, Incardona was considered the best 9-Ball Player in the World, and was competing with Hall of Famers such as Hall and Rempe. At the age of twenty-eight, Incardona felt the sport required too much time and the cash benefits of winning were insufficient in supporting the lifestyle he wanted to lead. He took a brief hiatus, and came back to win the Mizerak Seniors Tour in Chicago. For the last seventeen years, Incardona has been doing commentary for Accustats, as well as working for ESPN. Billy is very well-respected in the sport and has an excellent rapport with all players.
