About Tammie Jones
Tammie Wesley-Jones grew up right outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her three sisters and one brother. A big majority of Tammie’s childhood was spent raising horses, until the age of 18 when she won her first pool match. Following that first win, Tammie was invited to play at the local pool hall Ladies Pool Tournament, and to her surprise she won that title. From there on out, Tammie was an avid pool admirer. With her new win Tammie set her sites on upcoming tournaments throughout the country. To add to her experience off meeting different people, and sharpening her skills, Tammie took up a part time job at McDonalds. Tammie’s first big tournament opportunity came at the unfortunate luck of a player with the name “Canadian” Joe who broke his hand. Tammie ended up taking 5th place and decided to give the pro circuit a try. Tammie spent the next 7-8 years following the WPBA tour and played every event that she qualified for. Her most notable win was at the 1991 Wahine Open in Hawaii where she finished 3rd. After a short break from the tour Tammie tried her luck again in 1995, she earned the McDermott Tour Championship having won 56 of 63 events in two years. Tammie has collected 11 Master Championships including those in 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and Scotch Doubles. Tammie now dedicates a lot of her time to building her own teams for the APA League Franchise in 2003. Currently they have 72 teams however Tammie has her sights set on having 150 teams. With all the challenges of handling APA teams, Tammie spends time with her family.
