About John Kutcher

John Kutcher entered the poolroom at the age of 12 and was told he was too young and asked to leave. He returned one year later this time armed with a permission slip from his mother and instantly became hooked with the sounds, the smells, and the atmosphere. But most of all he knew he wanted to play, to compete, and had the desire to be the best. With a little friendly advice from Mr. Jenkins, the owner, he soon became skilled enough to win some of the local tournaments. This little six table poolroom in a Midwestern town of two thousand people became the first step in a life time journey of poolrooms and competition. By sixteen he was hopping a freight train or strapping his $12.00 cue on the back of his motorcycle hitting the road in search of the next game. Pool was not just a past time. It had become a passion. Straight pool and eight ball were his games of choice and remain so to this day. Now, some three decades later he is the holder of three consecutive state titles, has promoted and competed in various tournaments and owns a poolroom in Las Vegas called “Pool Sharks".
