About Jason Miller
Jason Miller is a 34-year-old sports-bar owner from Dayton, Ohio who, until the IPT came along, mostly played pool locally and as a part-time as a hobby. He started playing pool at age 12 and was a rapid learner. For two decades Jason has been a hometown hero for those who’ve known him and watched him progress. But until his surprise win in the Derby City World Bank Pool Championship in 2004, Jason was relatively unknown on the national pool scene. All that changed decisively earlier this year when Jason took the all-around “Master of the Table” honors at the 2006 Derby City Classic in Louisville, Ky. Then, just a few days later, he won the first IPT Qualifier to earn his 2006 Tour card on the International Pool Tour. Whether he’s ahead or behind, Jason is known for his quite manner and cool head at the table. In a recent article about Jason in the Dayton Daily News, IPT founder Kevin Trudeau described Jason as “the kind of guy who, if people see him win, they'll say, 'Maybe I can play with the big boys, too.' He's a magnificent player, but he's also very much of a regular guy. He's a guy who does plenty of things outside of pool. He's not practicing for 10 hours every day." Jason plans to play in every IPT event to which he is invited – whether it’s the big money tournaments or just local goodwill appearances to promote the growth of the IPT. In a recent interview about the IPT, Jason says “This is one of the best things to happen to pool and a great opportunity for all of us, so the least I can do is support it fully in anyway I can to further its success.”
