About Fabio Petroni
Fabio Petroni was born in 1972 in Rome Italy and began playing billiards when he was 13 years old. He won his first Italian Championship in 1993, and has recently won 5 Italian Championships. He went professional in 1998, and came in 2nd place in the European Championship and also in the World Pool League. In 1998 he also became a member of the Mosconi Cup. As 2001 got underway Petroni took first place in the Euro Tour in England. Petroni is known for his trick shot and displayed this when he won The World Pool- trick shot competition in 2001. In 2002 he came in second place in this competition. Petroni later earned 5th place in the US Open in 2002. He has come up against the best players, including Efren Reyes, Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland and Francisco Bustamante. He struggled to become a strong player in his country while much of the general public was unfamiliar the style of pool playing he was accustomed to. He is eager to compete in the IPT and excited to become an even stronger contender this year.
