About George SanSouci
George “Ginky” SanSouci grew up in New York City. At eighteen years old, George stumbled upon Chelsea Billiards one night and got caught up watching a big, crowded match into wee hours of the morning. He has been hooked on pool ever since. Within two years, at age twenty, George won the Massachusetts State Championships; beating a lot of top professionals seen on TV today. He went onto to win countless tournaments around the country, and at age twenty-two he turned professional and placed second in his very first Professional Event in Reno, Nevada in June of 1996. He then went on to win his first Pro Tournament in July 1998, which was a Camel Tour Event called the Charlotte 10-Ball Open. Within a 12 month span, Ginky won the BCA Open in Las Vegas, the Derby City 9-Ball Championship, and capped it off with a win in the National Straight Pool tournament in New York City. This acclaimed competitor was awarded Massachusetts State Champion in 1991, Rhode Island State Champion in 1994-1995, Maine State Champion and Billiards Digest Rookie of the Year in 1996, and in 1994-1997 won an unprecedented eighteen out of twenty-two events on the Tri-State Tour. He was the Delaware State Champion in 1997, with a high run of 14.1, continuous of 212 balls at the Amsterdam Billiard Club in New York in 1998. George was the Camel Pro Billiard Series Charlotte 10-Ball Open Champion in 1998, the BCA Invitational 9-Ball Champion in Las Vegas, and the National Straight Pool Champion in New York City both in 1999.
