About John Schmidt
John “Mr. 400” Schmidt is a thirty-two year old single golfer that is originally from San Diego and moved to Milton, Florida three years ago. He grew up playing golf and, upon discovering his love for pool, dreamed that one day it would be as big as golf. John is pleased that pool’s big break is finally here, thanks to the new International Pool Tour. John turned professional one year ago, working from an unseeded and unranked player up to one of the top sixteen players in the United States and the top Straight Pool Player in the United States. Mr. 400 was given this name due to the fact that he impressively has a high run of making 400 consecutive balls without a miss. In a short time, John has already won the Sands Regency Open in Reno beating out a 200 plus man field, and won the Legends of Straight Pool and One Pocket. Most recently, John was selected to represent the USA at the 2005 World Pool Championships in Taiwan. He then went on to finish in the quarter finals at the Korea International Championships where he held the tournament record of eight racks of 9-Ball run in a row in nineteen minutes. John has also been one of five pros invited to represent the South Team against the North Team in this years Patriot Cup in Tampa FL. John also has mastered jump shots, banks, and cue ball control which makes him a difficult player to play against defensively, and makes his game very high-energy for both himself and spectators alike.
