About Gerry Watson
Gerry Watson was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario. Gerry “The Ghost” Watson was destined for a career in the sport. He excelled in baseball and hockey and was surprised when Toronto’s star hockey players, Dave Keon and Frank Mahovlich along with management came to town to take a look at him and then to speak with him after the game. Gerry’s hockey career came to an abrupt end when he suffered an injury that collapsed his arches on both feet. Gerry was twelve when he began playing Pool at a neighbor’s home and at the age of thirteen he began to play at a local billiard clubs. By the time he was fifteen, he had risen as the top player in his hometown in both Snooker and Pool. In 2006 Gerry was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame. Gerry tried to settle into a proper career by attending College and University and then working for the Canadian Government, but the call of the green felt was too much and with all his natural talent Gerry quickly rose to the top of Canadian billiard players. From 1983 thru 1989, Gerry was a member of the Canadian Professional Snooker Association and also one of the 128 members of the prestigious World Professional Snooker and Billiards Association. Gerry saw an opportunity and in 1983 he began The Gerry Watson Pool Show and since then he has performed over 3000 shows. Gerry has displayed his talents on several TV shows, along with twice on GLOBAL, CHCH and also on both CBC Television and Radio. Gerry Watson is a 3-Time Canadian Open Champion in 8-Ball in 1983, 9-Ball in 1993, and 1996. In 1999 Gerry finished the tour 20th overall amongst top Canadian Players. In 2000 Gerry finished the tour 15th overall amongst top Canadian Players. Gerry has produced three home videos (VHS), and Winning Skills and Trick Shotsadvertised on TSN 3 times a day for 10 straight weeks. His newest video is on DVD, titled Graduation Class He has also written a Book titled 101 Big Pool Shots
